#J58, 50c Carmine lake, a very scarce used example, well centered within much larger margins than is normally associated with this key postage due, rich color, postally cancelled with" Newark/N.J." handstamp rather than the more common precancel, sound and very fine for this key high value; 1992 PF and 2006 PSE certificate (F-VF 75; SMQ $975.00); this is one of those stamps that is just not found in high grades, of the four used stamps that have been graded this is the highest grade and the lone example awarded Fine -Very Fine 75 (the only other J58 graded stamp is an o.g., n.h. VF 80); this is certainly among the finest used examples available. (Image)
