1224 ogO   Valuable balance of a large collection to 1985 in two Scott albums, early issue mainly used and contains some high cataloging stamps such as #8, 12, 21, 27, 28A, 34, 79, 83, 85, 85B, 101, etc., also 1869 Pictorials complete, plus six re-issues and a couple essays, grilled Bank Notes include the 12c, 30c and 90c values, later Bank Notes are a mix of mint and used, turn-of-the-century is mostly mint, the 20th Century is overwhelmingly mint, with an excellent run of Washington-Franklin heads, including certified coil singles and pairs, the later issues are quite comprehensive, and include extras such as blocks and a few plate blocks, Farley position pieces and a specialized group of the Presidentials, with gutter pairs, booklet panes with plate numbers, plate blocks and first day covers of the dollar values, air posts complete, with some early plate blocks and the Graf Zeppelin set used ($2.60 on cover), plus special deliveries, postage dues, complete Offices in China, officials, newspaper stamps, some modern errors, a few Philippine overprints and even some covers, the early issues are in slightly mixed condition, much of the 20th Century is fine-very fine; the collector obtained certificates and virtually all of the better stamps, with 250 PF, PSE or APS certificates accompanying the collection. 1225 ogObl   Desirable and valuable mint and used accumulation of many hundreds of 19th century and mostly pre-1925 20th century items, including strong used classics to the 1869 issue, a large holding of Columbians mostly in mint multiples and assorted mint 20th century in singles, blocks and plate blocks, all housed in five stockbooks, the first stockbook is the 1845-67 issues (accompanied by ten certificates) and includes used #9X1, 1, 7 (11) including pair and strip of three, 9 (8) including pair, 14-15 (2) and a vertical Ty. II and III combination pair, 17 pair, 20 (2), 22, 23 (2), 24 (23) including five pairs and mint (2) and used strips of three, 27, 28, 29, 29 strip of three, 30A (3), 33, 35 (6) including strip of three, 64b (3), 67, 68 (11) including two pairs, 69 pair, 78 (6) including pair, 71-72, 76 (3) and strips of three and five, 96 (2) and 101, also some scattered latter issues including two used $1.00 Trans-Mississippis, the second book is all 1869's with 112 (23) including pair, 114 mint n.h. single, mint strip of four and used strip of six, 115 (7) and a pair, 116 (9) plus a pair, 117 (9) and two pairs, 119 (10), 121 (8) and 122, the third book is the mint Columbian multiples with 230 block of four (7), block of nine and block of 25, 231 block of four (6), block of six, block of 25 and three imprint and plate no. strips of four, 232 block of four (3) and three plate imprint and plate no. strips of three or four, 233 block of four (4), 234 block of four (3) and imprint and plate no. strip of four, 235 block, 236 block (3) and strip of six, 237 and 239 blocks and some mint singles to 50c value, the last two stockbooks contain the remainder of the holding and is all mint, here we find #9 (2), one with certificate, 35, 63 block, some scattered Bank Notes, including 206 blocks of six and twelve, as well as a few Bureau issues, 285-86 plate blocks, 287 block, 290 imprint and plate no. pair, 323 plate block of six, 325 plate block of four (2), 326 block, Pan-Americans, 537 plate block, C1 block, C5 block (2), C18 block, E1 block, Q1 plate block and O91 block of nine, the overall quality is quite decent, while there are some off center or small faults to be found throughout as one would expect, a good many are nice fresh fine-very fine used, l.h. and n.h. stamps and multiples; a careful viewing will prove rewarding as there are some better cancels to be found.
