FINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE 1894 96-CENT UNWATERMARKED BUREAU NEWSPAPER ISSUE. ONE OF THE GREATEST OF ALL NEWSPAPER ISSUE RARITIES -- ONLY NINE ARE CONTAINED IN OUR CENSUS.
Our recently updated census of PR99 (available at http://siegelauctions.com/dynamic/census/PR99/PR99.pdf ) contains nine unused copies. Of these only four are confirmed as having gum. This is only the second we have offered since our 1993 Rarities sale. None was offered in the Floyd, Lessin or Lyons sales.

Our recently updated census of PR100 (available at http://siegelauctions.com/dynamic/census/PR100/PR100.pdf ) contains only eleven copies. Of these, only four are potentially sound, and only eight are confirmed as having gum. As another indication of rarity, the last example we offered was this stamp in our 1980 Rarities sale. None was offered in Lyons, Floyd or Lessin, all of whom had copies of the $6.00, PR101.

VERY FINE AND CHOICE APPEARANCE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $6.00 1894 UNWATERMARKED BUREAU NEWSPAPER ISSUE. ONLY FIFTEEN UNUSED EXAMPLES HAVE BEEN CERTIFIED AS GENUINE BY THE PHILATELIC FOUNDATION, MOST OF WHICH HAVE VARYING DEGREES OF FAULTS.
