Dec. 26, 1862" circular datestamp on legal-size yellow "Confederate States of America Adjutant and Inspector General's Office" semi-official imprint drop cover, addressed to William H. Hidell who was private secretary to Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens, docketing on reverse "Gen. S. Cooper Adjt. & Insp. Gen. Dec. 26, 1862", missing backflap as usual for Stephens covers, some wear and staining, still a very presentable and extremely rare combination of 2c Green on cover with the Adjutant and Inspector General's Office imprint (Image)
