4472 c U.S. Christian Commission Cover Collection. 65 covers neatly mounted and hand-described in an album, nearly all franked with 3c Rose, others with due markings, wide variety of designs with different imprints incl. carrier pigeon, scroll and corner cards from at least a dozen different Commission branches, we noticed Alexandria Va., Memphis Tenn., Cairo Ill., Milwaukee, Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York, Washington, St. Louis, and others, 10 covers are complete with original enclosures and stationery with some written by soldiers in hospitals in Chattanooga Tenn., Alexandria Va. and Lincoln (Washington), even three covers and letters from a Chaplain to a father about his son being seriously in the head from the Battle of South Side Railroad, an additional 10 Sanitary Commission covers are included as well, Fine appearing and fascinating group of these Civil War relief covers
