471 ng 13a image1859 6d Grey Violet Consort, Perforated 11¾, unused (no gum), a lovely example of this scarcer shade with full and intact perforations, fresh and fine-very fine. The rarity of mint or unused perforated 6d in the grey violet share cannot be understated. They are significantly rarer than the “regular” brown violet shade despite having the same catalogue value. The 6d in grey violet is typically part of the last half dozen stamps remaining on serious want lists. This specific example is one of the finest available to collectors. It might be a long time before a comparable example comes to the market.

Accompanied by a 1988 Greene Foundation certificate. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)

480 O 15v image1859 5c Deep Red Beaver with Major Re-Entry from position 28. A lovely example in used condition, showing the entire design doubled, particularly strong at left, with all lettering, all four "5"s and many other designs strongly doubled. One of the most striking re-entries in Canadian philately. A particularly nice stamp, with its perforations clear from the design on all sides plus its light target cancel ideally at right, leaving the best parts of the re-entry perfectly clear. Extremely fine.

Ex Denton, "Carrington" and "Malibu" collections.
