which is not listed in either Scott or Stanley Gibbons, wonderfully fresh,
vibrant color, o.g., very fine; a stamp which is almost never offered at
auction, with this particular copy being the top left corner example from a
block of four sold in the famous "Bute" collection (Robson Lowe, lot #57,
May 20, 1959); signed Peter Holcombe and accompanied by his 1986

example of this terribly rare and seldom offered stamp, of which only a
mere 65 examples were issued, deep rich color, nicely centered, o.g.,

are both sound and with original gum; signed Champion and accompanied by a
1970 BPA certificate (Scott #N20; $4,000.00).

collection on pages, beginning with fifteen different Baghdad
overprints, including several better stamps cataloging up to £300
each, and most of these are signed by recognized experts, the Mosul basic
issues are complete, and the Iraq issues are complete including officials,
a total of 63 stamps in all, the Baghdad issues are either unused or with
o.g. and there is an occasional small flaw, the remaining issues all appear
to have o.g., and with few exceptions are fine-very fine; a very nice group
of these elusive issues (Scott #N1/53, NO1-22). |
