Imprint at top of buff legal-size cover with 10-Star Sloping Confederate Flag with Liberty Cap and "Union of the South" Ribbon Patriotic design (F10-12, Slogan 25), military carriage and address to 52nd Regiment Virginia Volunteers at Camp Allegheny Va., file folds and small tears at bottom

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THIS 10-STAR SLOPING FLAG PATRIOTIC DESIGN. ONLY TWO ARE RECORDED.

Ex Emerson. Signed Shenfield and MacBride with the comment "never saw another." Illustrated in Wishnietsky's Confederate Patriotic Covers and Their Usages on p. 58, where stated "two reported" (Image)
