25 c ImageBRAZIL, 1843, 60c Black, Early Impression (2; RHM 2). A select quality single from the first composition of the plate, State A, Position 7, featuring four large to very large margins, sharp detailed impression, tied by "S. JOAO DEL REI" straightline handstamp on attractive 1844 folded letter to Rio de Janeiro, this pre-adhesive straightline is rated as "scarce"

EXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING SINGLE-FRANKING USE OF THE 60-REIS EARLY IMPRESSION, UNUSUALLY CANCELLED BY A PRE-ADHESIVE PERIOD STRAIGHTLINE TOWN MARKING ON THE ADDRESS SIDE OF THE COVER.

The Bull's Eye stamps were often affixed to the backs of covers. Examples tied on the face of the cover are much more desirable and scarce.
