VERY FINE AND STRIKING. AN EXTREMELY RARE AND DESIRABLE USE OF THE DISTINCTIVE FANCY "HORSESHOE" CANCEL OF SICILY CANCELLING A STAMP OF NAPLES WHILE IN TRANSIT TO SIRACUSA.
A highly exhibitable and important cover showing use of the distinctive "horseshoe" framed cancel on a Naples stamp. This handstamp was intended to cancel the stamps of Sicily without obliterating the portrait of King Ferdinand II, nicknamed King "Bomba."
