The error is the result of a downward shift of approximately 8.5 mm. in the surcharging of a single sheet, that was found among others of the same denomination purchased by the Nanyo Bank in December of 1960. The banking official making the discovery exchanged it for a normal sheet and several years later offered it for sale.
