SYDNEY]' postal cds in violet, Cat $4000+ (£2000+) for examples CTO with 'NSW'-in-concentric-ovals. Superb. A very rare stamp postally used. Sold at our auction of 24.1.2004 for $4300 (Sale 108 Lot 474). The rather similar example in our auction of
25.1.2003 sold for $7640 (Sale 101 Lot 172).
The ACSC states "The 10/- and 20/- were issued only in New South Wales, and saw negligible usage. Stamps with NSW within three concentric ovals are cancelled to order ... Correctly used stamps are of extreme rarity and worth a considerable
