½d orange SG 124 Electro 9 with Missing Right Frame behind Emu (Repaired State with Very Thin Frame) [Pos 9R51] as ACSC 68(9)n in a
marginal block of 18 (6x3) from the base of the sheet with part-imprint also including 'Sporran' on Kangaroo's Front Leg (Second State with Thinner Fraction at Right) [Pos 9R47] and White Spot next to '2' in Left Value Tablet [Pos 9R59], centring
variable, unmounted, Cat $1075+ for the un-repaired state used (unpriced mint; the Very Thin Frame state not listed), the listed varieties mounted and 15 unmounted singles. The ACSC states (footnote 1) that this variety "occurs only occasionally, and
was probably corrected by makeready for most printings". In its corrected state, the unit is platable from Small White Dot to Left of '2' in Left Value Tablet and Small White Flaw (Broken Shading Line) at Back of King's Head. The Very Thin Frame
state is worthy of catalogue status on its own. Ex Andrew Johnston: sold at our auction of 19.9.2023 for $276 (Sale 253 Lot 256).

2d scarlet Tete-Beche Pair ACSC 102cb (SG 99ac), well-centred, two tiny paper tabs on the reverse - and evidence of a third -
apparently from an Official Substitution in a defective sheet, two tiny gumside imperfections that are utterly inconsequential and that have no impact on the very fine facial appearance, lightly mounted, Cat $225,000 (£200,000). The unique example of
the most important Commonwealth of Australia error. BPA Certificate (1981) states 'is genuine' but sensibly does not mention the two tiny imperfections.Offered with a copy of a typed Statutory Declaration by Stanley William George dated 10.5.1931,
stating that the pair '... was purchased by me in the ordinary way over the counter at the Elizabeth Street Post Office Melbourne ... contained in a One Pound booklet ... attached to adjoining stamps ... by means of gummed paper strips ...', with a
photograph of the pair attached, and signed in pencil 'SWGeorge', plus the envelope in which the Statutory Declaration and the stamps were kept by Mr George.Provenance: Jack Kilfoyle (Harmers of London 17.10.1961, sold for £240 which was the highest
price in the sale, compared with his imperforate Kookaburra M/S that sold for £105); Jill Nette (Harmers of Sydney 27.8.1971, sold to Rodney Perry for $4100); sold privately by Rodney Perry; Anonymous (Harmers of Sydney 19.6.1975, Est $7000 to
$10,000 but unsold); Anonymous but almost certainly Rodney Perry (Perry Rarities Auction 1.7.1977, sold for $26,000); Anonymous (Greg Manning, New York 10.5.1980, Est £15,000 to £20,000, result not known); Derrick Ray (Harmers of London, sold for
£72,000 which at the time was A$250,000). (Image1) (Image2)

2d scarlet with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 102(OS)a (SG O125w), well-centred, part-'[PAQUEB]OT]' machine cancel of Perth or
Fremantle, Cat $500 (£1,000). RPSV Certificate (2012). Following the discovery of an unspecified number of used stamps, the ACSC reduced its price from $4000 to $500, an over-correction in our opinion. Gibbons followed suit reducing its price from
£3500 to £550 but, in the 2025 edition, raised this back up to £1000. Since the price revisions, we have sold three examples - all with machine cancels - for an average of $406 each. (Image1) (Image2)

1d green corner block of 4 from the upper-left of the right-hand pane Imperforate at the Top ACSC 82b, the lower units separated

Baillie (2007) - sold for $34,500 - and Arthur Gray: sold at our auction of 30.10.2015 for $35,700 (Sale 207 Lot 336). Illustrated in the ACSC. Michael Drury Certificate (2015). The ACSC states "One sheet ... had the final strike of the comb omitted,

2d scarlet Perf 11 Postal Forgery with No Watermark ACSC 103cd (footnote below SG 138) block of 4, well-centred, characteristic
irregular perfs, a few toned perfs, lightly mounted with virtually full gum, Cat $3600+ £1800+) for singles. The ACSC states "multiples of the forgeries exist but are rare". A very fine block of 4 with one unit unmounted sold at our auction of
16.5.2023 for $2315 (Sale 251 Lot 312).
The forgeries were created in Sydney as part of an elaborate fraud involving the mailing of a faked prospectus for the Irish Sweepstakes, and for forwarding tickets to unwitting subscribers. The two 'masterminds' were jailed for forgery, fraud &
related offences. (Image1)
