Collection / Accumulation of Used Germany, 1872-1945, with a few thousand stamps in a KABE album, stockbook, and home made pages in a binder. The collection begins with the KABE album containing classics up to 1945 (with most stamps having c.d.s. cancels), and selections of back of the book material including semi-postals, airmails officials, etc. We note just a few of the better stamps with Scott #s 3a, 4-5, 7, 9-11 (c.v. $577 total), 14, 16-20, 23, 25, 27 ($649 total), along with stamps, sets, and partial sets, cataloguing from $10 to $40 and up including #s 36b ($60), 137-155 ($62 total), 299, 301 ($79 total). Owner's 2022 Scott catalogue value in excess of $2,700. The lot continues with a stockbook with roughly 4,000 stamps, ranging from the 1880s to the 1940s, with better representation from Bavaria, Wurttemberg, inflation period Germany, semi-postals, airmails and officials, etc., along with album pages containing roughly 300 used Germany, from the 1870s onward. The lot includes five red boxes of Germany, a red box of Semi-Postals and back of the book stamps, two red boxes of DDR, and a half filled box of Berlin, with material generally ranging from the 1870s to 2010. Duplication generally ranges from 1 to 10, and we roughly estimate there to be 20% mint stamps and 80% used stamps. Germany and Berlin Mint and Used Collections, in four sections; a fairly complete mint and used Germany collection from 1969 to 2002 housed in a Lighthouse springback album, a Germany collection over half complete from 1976 to 1990 which is almost entirely neatly c.d.s. on Lighthouse pages and a Berlin collection from 1963 to 1979 which is about 90% complete and entirely mint never hinged housed in a Schaubek springback album. A collection on Lighthouse pages from 1962 to 1976, a little over half complete of mostly used stamps, many of which have pleasing c.d.s. postmarks. Large Stock of Mint Germany in Sheets, Part Sheets, blocks of four and mint singles, all in 19 sheet files, two thicker stockbooks, hundreds of glassines, etc. The group is overwhelmingly never hinged, with stamps mostly from the 1920s to the 1990s and heaviest in the period of the late 1940s. Included are more than 220 complete sheets of 25 to 100 stamps with many more stamps as singles, blocks of four and other multiples. Russian Zone and early East Germany are best represented, followed by West Germany, Berlin, Bavaria and other German areas. We estimate there to be more than 20,000 stamps in this group. The sheets and part sheets have some folds, tears and other damage, however, these tend to be confined to the selvedge, with the stamps themselves overall very fine. Mint and Used Germany Collections in four lighthouse and one Schaubek album. There is a West Germany mint never hinged collection from 1960 to 1996, which we estimate to be over 80% complete in period, housed in two non-matching Lighthouse albums, both with mounts. For East Germany there are two matching blue Lighthouse albums with slipcovers with spaces for stamps from the beginning of DDR to 1979, which house a fairly complete collection from the mid-1950s to 1979 with mint never hinged, and a smattering of mint and used before the mid-1950s. There is also an older Schaubek springback album with a mostly used DDR collection which we estimate to be well over half complete from the start of DDR to the end of the pages in the album at 1968. All tolled, there are numerous sets and singles in the $10 to $20 of catalogue range plus the better souvenir sheet, Scott # 264a (mint, c.v. $60). Overall very fine.
