Cilicia
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
1223 O/og/nh   image16 Page Exhibit on The Cilicia Overprint Varieties and Errors on Turkish or French stamps, well laid out, showing normal (mostly mint) stamps, then varieties such as missing next to overprinted, double, inverted, inverted next to missing, double inverted, missing parts of the overprint, and more. The last two pages contain a sheet of 100 of Scott 24 (c.v. $800, mounted on a double page). A lovely exhibit / collection which would be difficult to duplicate, with many items listed in Scott and even more in Yvert & Tellier Specialized and the Mayo Specialized catalogue, which lists the stamp on page 8 of the exhibit showing "Syrie" instead of "Cicilie" (Mayo #172GY). Includes a page with 17 stamps described by the owner as forgeries. All pages are scanned online and comes with additional information. 1224 O/og/nh   imageAdvanced Mint and Used Cilicia Collection on Scott Specialty Pages, 1919-1921, plus extra pages for a total of 21 pages and 180 stamps, all containing an advanced collection of overprinted Turkish and French stamps, featuring a large number of overprint varieties, such as inverted, double, double inverted, sideways, misplaced, and more, many listed in either Scott, Yvert & Tellier or Mayo. Also includes a specialized catalogue / monograph on the subject by Menachim Max Mayo (1984, self-published, with colour illustrations, 194 pages). Quite a useful collection, either for the beginner or advanced collector, not often offered. All pages are scanned online. 1225 O/og/nh   imageCollection of Mint and Used Cilicia in a Scott Specialty Album, with 370 mint and used stamps, including complete sets, overprint varieties (with both unlisted, plus some either listed in Scott, or Yvert or Mayo, such as double, inverted, etc.), multiples, perforation varieties, three stationery envelopes, two registration receipts, three pages of forerunners (Palestinian and Turkish stamps canceled in Cilicia) as well as four Air Mail issues (assumed to have fake overprints). A lovely collection to expand upon, with a huge catalogue value (owner's c.v. for the Scott listed items only came to over $9,000). We only photographed a sampling of the pages online to give an idea. 1226 O/og/nh   imageHuge Stock of Mint and Used Cilicia Duplicates, in two 16-page stockbooks (the varieties, identified by Mayo numbers, including inverted, double, missing, etc.), two binders with manila pages and a good stack of 102 cards. We counted just over 3,400 Turkish and French overprinted stamps, including many NH, many overprint varieties, perforation varieties, postmark interest, and more. Duplication in each of the three groups runs from one stamp to several dozens, and there is duplication also from one group to the other. Many of the items are identified by the owner and some are priced at what appears to be current Scott values (huge total c.v.). A great lot for the collector wishing to seek out varieties or postmarks, etc., or for the dealer who specializes in such material, as this is definitely not often seen in this quantity. Scans only show a small sampling, should easily be worth our low estimate. Danish West Indies
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
1228 O/og/nh   imageSpecialized Collection / Accumulation of Mint and Used Danish West Indies, displayed on 6 black stock pages. Most of the material is used but there is good value in mint. The majority of the value is in the specialized collection of the 1874-79 issues, with shades, identified Types, postmarks, etc. Our catalogue value for these is as if they were all the first issues, and not the later 1896-1901 printings, so there will probably be a final difference in the catalogue value, also taking into account that we did not value better shades or varieties, of which there are plenty. The lot continues with a selection of postage dues and a page of later issues (these not counted in the total value). We note mint NH blocks (56 stamps total) of #24 (c.v. $896), a lovely used block of #19 ($170), a used block of 5 of #15 ($362) and more. A generally fine to very fine offering, seldom seen, and all pages are scanned online. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (Scan 6) (Scan 7) (All Scans)

Denmark
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
1230 O   imageExtensive Collection / Study of the Denmark Numeral Issues of 1870 to 1912, with thousands of used stamps mounted on pages filling a 3 inch thick binder. The owner was visibly passionate about this issue, as each page is riddled with note after note on types, printings, varieties, and much more. The collection is also abundant in postmark interest, as the owner used mostly dated copies to help him identify them. The collection also includes a few covers and stationery items. Please see our representative photos to get a small glimpse, or better yet plan on seeing it in person to better appreciate the quantity and range of material included. 1232 O/og   imageExtensive Collection of Denmark's Royal Emblems First Issues, 1851-1863, with 335 stamps displayed on 6 stock pages and 2 album pages. We note a good variety of printings, denominations, shades, etc., and most of the stamps have 3-ring numeral cancels, many of which are easily readable / identifiable (at least one 8s value has a nice c.d.s. cancel, and there are also a few mint or unused stamps). A group like this will contain faults, still a tremendous opportunity for the specialist wishing to find better numeral cancels, printings, etc. A rare offering which should easily be worth our estimate of $3 per stamp, all pages are scanned online.
