601 CVR   imageThree 3c Small Queen Covers with Fancy Toronto Cork Cancels, first was mailed from Toronto on OCT.29.1872 to Clinton, franked with a 3c SQ fancy "2" in double-ring (Lacelle #40); Second is backstamped NOV.27.1873, with a 3c SQ tied by a very fine strike of a fancy "2" (unrecorded in Lacelle, but similar background to earlier strikes) next to a WAY LETTER handstamp; Third is dated SEP.2.1873, franked with a 3c SQ tied by a fancy cork which may or may not contain a numeral 2. All three covers have faults to varying degrees, still a useful group for the Toronto, or fancy cork collector. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (All Scans)

614 CVR/O   imageThe Gordon Richardson Collection of Manitoba Railway Post Office Postmarks, with 23 covers (incl. 2 oversize) and 8 postcards plus 9 on piece. We note that the majority of the R.P.O.s were used as despatch, and some as transit markings, especially on the 4 registered covers. The majority of the items are annotated as per the R.P.O. number (except for one that is apparently unreported), and many still have prices paid (many between $5 and $30), and we note frankings ranging from the Small Queens to the 1940s, noting some better such as a single 7c Québec Tercentenary, single 7c Edward, etc. An overall nice group, with mostly fully readable strikes and generally fine to very fine.
