The cover was carried to Ottawa via the Steamer Phoenix (manuscript "Str Phoenix / JUN 17 / 58" on back) then back down river to Cumberland. Light aging, still rare and fine.

front, with spelling "Hawksbury", dated NOV.20.1824, docketing confirmation, this is the earliest of only two known examples, dated 4 days apart). Second is a very fine folded letter with different spelling Hawkesbury, dated MAR.4.1829 (the only

Nottawasaga U.C (JAN.4.1853 transit in red) and Ancaster C.W (JAN.10.1853 transit) and another unreadable backstamp, franked with an oxidized 3c Beaver imperforate with 3 large margins. Opening up the letter reveals that it was mailed a second time
from Mr. Fraser in Williamstown C.W (JAN.14.1853) to Hamilton, via Lancaster. Both mailings have their own letter. An interesting and fine folded letter(s). (Scan 1)
