106 CVR   image1901 2c Empire Numeral Cover to England, Re-Directed to Italy with Italian Postage Due Stamps, mailed from Toronto (JUN.28 Die C Exposition flag machine cancel) to London, England (JUL.6 receiver), re-directed to Milan, Italy on JUL.8 (London despatch on front) with Milan and Rome backstamps. The 2c QV Numeral franking was sufficient for the travel to London, but the Italian Post Office affixed 15c (equivalent to 3c) in postage due stamps to charge the addressee the difference for a 5c letter rate to Italy. Under U.P.U. regulations, double-deficiency charges did not apply to letters correctly prepaid to their original destinations. A few minor wrinkles, still an interesting cover with Milan Grand Hotel advertising handstamp on back. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (All Scans)

Ellicott Square" at lower right corner. Mailed from Fort Erie Ontario on AUG.12 to Trenton, New York, with Buffalo transit and New York AUG.13 receiver. Very fine and lovely. 108 PC   image1901 1c Leaf Postal Card to China, Re-Directed to Austria, back of card has a pasted view of Hotel Lake Louise, mailed from Banff, Alberta on AUG.2 to an Austrian Consulate in Shanghai, China, with Shanghai Local Post SEP.4 receiver and Shanghai German Post Office receiver on same day, through Vancouver (AUG.5 transit duplex). The address was then crossed-out and card mailed to Pola, Austria, where it arrived on OCT.9. The 1c card is uprated with a 2c QV Numeral. A scarce postal card, very fine and ex "Jura" (2007).
