82 CVR   image1899 12c Cross Border Registered AR Rate Cover, mailed from Montréal on AUG.9 (squared circle precursor free strike) to New Orleans (AUG.13 receiver on front) through New York (faint AUG.10 transit on back), franked with a 2c purple QV Numeral and pair 5c QV Numerals (stamps have faults), paying 2c postage, 5c registration and 5c AR fee. Overall aging, edge and backflap tears, still a very rare cover and early use of the AR service in Canada, with only a handful recorded in the Victorian era (mostly Small Queen covers).

86 CVR   image1899 2c Double Printed Matter rate Cover to Costa Rica, mailed from St. Lambert Montréal, LC on OCT.13 (free strike broken circle) to San José, Costa Rica, through New Orleans (Oct.16 machine transit on back). The unsealed backflap cover is franked with a 2c carmine QV Numeral issue, paying the double weight 2c printed matter rate. Very fine and scarce rate / destination combination.

87 CVR   image1899 Illustrated Advertising Cover, Mailed Shortpaid for the Circular Rate, mailed by Henry Hechler in Halifax, Nova Scotia on OCT.4 to himself in Halifax, endorsed "Circular" and franked with a ½c QV Numeral (cover is unsealed) which should have been 1c. The cover is a multi-colour advertising for the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition, which had already been held. Bit of toning on stamp, still a very fine cover.

88 CVR   image1899 Shortpaid Cover to Egypt with Postage Due Stamps, mailed from Ottawa on NOV.11 (Type I squared circle) to Alexandria, Egypt (NOV.28 receiver), re-directed to Cairo. The cover was mailed with a single 2c carmine QV Numeral and was taxed "T15" for a short payment of 3c, with 1m and a 2m Egyptian Postage Due stamps added in Cairo, cancelled on DEC.12. 89 CVR   image1900 2c Numeral Cover to the United States with a US Special Delivery Stamp, an illustrated hotel advertising cover mailed from Toronto on FEB.17 (Bickerdike Type 8 flag cancel) to Cincinnati, Ohio (faint receiver on back), franked with a 2c carmine QV Numeral plus a 10c US Special Delivery stamp, the latter was cancelled with a 4-line purple handstamp reading "On delivery of this letter, Carrier will / please obtain this envelope and name of / mailing Post Office and return to Super- / intendent of Carriers" in purple. A scarce early use of this service, very fine.

90 CVR   image1900 2c Empire Rate Illustrated Cover to Belize, mailed from Montréal on FEB.17 (Bickerdike machine cancel) to Belize, British Honduras (DEB.25 receiver), endorsed "Via New Orleans", with New Orleans FEB.20 machine transit. Franking is a pair of 1c QV Numerals, paying the recently adopted 2c Empire rate. A lovely cover depicting an angel riding a bicycle, with bicycle and sporting goods shop corner card, couple of wrinkles and tears on backflap, still very fine and an exotic destination.

91 CVR   image1900 7c Empire Registered Rate Numeral Cover to Singapore, a 1c QV stationery envelope mailed from St. Roch de Québec (FEB.9 c.d.s. free strike) to Singapore, Straits Settlements (MAR.18 receiver) through Québec City (FEB.9 transit) and London, England (FEB.22 oval registration transit). The cover was uprated with a single 6c QV Numeral to pay for the 2c Imperial Penny Postage rate plus the 5c registration fee. 94 CVR   image1900 1c Numeral Printed Matter Rate Cover to Peru, mailed from Westmount, Québec in 1900 (month and day illegible, but probably in March) to Lima, Peru with MAY.18 receiver, through New York (MAR.21 transit machine), then received two boxed handstamps: "REBUT" and "NON RECLAMÉ", then sent to U.S. Dead Letter Office (JUL.6.1901 receiver) and Ottawa D.L.O. (JUL.19.1901) receiver. The cover is franked with a 1c QV Numeral, paying for the printed matter rate (backflap has re-sealed since then). 99 CVR   image1900 1c Printed Matter Rate Cover to Sweden, mailed from Montréal on OCT.25 (Bickerdike Type 8 flag cancel) to Overum, Sweden with JAN.9.1901 receiver, the cover received a purple boxed "Inconnu" plus a purple boxed "Retur" and was mailed back to the Ottawa Dead Letter Office (FEB.4.1901 oval receiver). There is interestingly a Montréal carrier datestamp dated FEB.1 on back. At some point the cover was taxed with various rates plus a boxed "T", possibly because the (missing) backflap was partially stuck, thus negating the requirements for passing as a printed matter rate.
