1162 O Denmark and Area imageDenmark and Area Used Collection in Minkus Album, a highly complete collection, from the beginning to about 2000. Note the superb first and second pages of Denmark filled with too many better stamps to list here (CV $2,350) and then page after page completely filled with regular and back-of-the-book stamps, Noted Scott B1-11 (CV $217), airmails Scott C1-3, 5 (CV $532), postage dues Scott J1-7, 9-24 (CV $240), nice Officials, newspaper stamps, parcel post stamps. More than 90% complete to 1968 with many more stamps to about 2005. Danish West Indies are also well represented and we noted Scott #1 and 2 (CV $350) and also 9 and 11 (CV $270) among others. Greenland is near complete to about 2000. It starts with Parcel Post Scott Q1-4, 6 and 8 (CV $419). We noted a complete set of local scenes Scott #10-18 (CV $392). The Faroe Islands are about complete to 1997. Hundreds of doubles are included in a large glassine and should not be overlooked. Very fine. (J. O.) Appears to be over 95% complete for the 1938-1973 issues, including 11 mint souvenir sheets ($95). There are also 13 complete booklets, 7 from 1975 and the rest from 1983-85 (duplication). 1176 O Finland imageFinland Advanced Used Collection on Minkus Pages, with a high degree of completion to about 2000. This collection starts with a Scott #2 (CV $400) and 7 serpentine rouletted stamps that have not been identified for paper or roulette type. A further group of 9 serpentine stamps is also included (faults). We also noted Scott #17-24 (CV $600), 36 (CV $500), 38-45 (CV $174), 69 (CV $350). Most of the semi-postals and the back-of-the-book items are present from Scott #B1 on. Ends with pages with stamps for Aland Islands, Karelia and North Ingermanland. 1178 O France imageFrance Extensive Used Collection in a Minkus Album to 2006, left intact and running from #s 1 to 3254. A comprehensive collection with mainly used stamps but saw some mint as well. The regular issues are quite complete from 1852-1990, missing only a few values (65 and three souvenir sheets: 226, 241, 2021, a few coils some pre-cancels, etc). The rest of the better values are included, such as #s 17, 21, 37 (faulty), 197 (with certificate), 329 souvenir sheet, 624, 1100, etc. After 1990 the collection is over 90% complete to 2006. There is a strong showing of semi-postals, with B1-B500 and on, missing only B10 and B39-41. Equally complete are the air mails, from C1 to C62, missing only C3-4, but including all of the others: C14 with certificate, C15, C17, C22, etc. The collection also includes Offices Abroad ($1,150) with Alexandria 43, etc. The last few pages are devoted to the General Issues for French Colonies ($1,770), featuring #s 1-9, 20-23, 46-59, etc. Includes a large glassine of duplicates not counted, and there is duplication of some issues, usually hinged under the others. A lovely collection, with mostly nice and clean postmarks and overall fine to very fine. The Scott 2015 catalogue value is $23,100. (J.O.)
