818 PC 75 imageEarly 1899 UPU Picture Postcard from Victoria BC, mailed Victoria on SEP.29.1899 to Berlin Germany, with OCT.16 receiver on front. The picture side depicts a view of an early mining establishment and a view of the Nanaimo Harbour. 819 CVR 89-91 image1904 15c Registered Rate Cover to Denmark, mailed from Ottawa on JUN.7.1904 and addressed to Skive, Denmark. Franked with a 1c, pair of 2c and two 5c King Edward VII issues, for a total of 15c. Back has a London transit in red plus a cinderella "Old Home Week and Ter-Centenary" with image of Samuel de Champlain. Vertical crease not affecting stamps, else very fine. 820 CVR 91 image1903 Registered Cover from Ottawa to Japan, Then Back, mailed Ottawa JAN.23.1903 to Yokohama, Japan and franked with a pair of the 5c King Edward VII issue. The cover travelled through Chicago on JAN.27, San Francisco on JAN.31 where a red registration label was added, arrived Yokohama on FEB.26 where a second registration label was applied. It was then returned to San Francisco on MAR.16, then Vancouver on MAR.19, through Rossland on MAR.22, onto a train on the same day and arrived Windsor on MAR.26. 825 CVR   image1933 Balbo Flight Cover to Germany, mailed Shediac NS (JUL.25.1933 duplex) to the British Consul in Berlin, Germany via General Balbo Italian Air Squadron flight. Sent via Rome, Italy (AUG.8 backstamp) and arrived in Berlin on AUG.14. Apparently returned to North Sydney NS one month later on AUG.26 (backstamp). The cover is franked with three $1 Mount Cavell (#177) and a 20c Harvesting Wheat (#175), with special blue cachet on front. The Airmails of Canada and Newfoundland (1997) indicates that only 70 pieces were carried from Shediac to Rome on JUL.25. Most of the mail carried by Balbo's squadron with Canadian stamps were from Shediac or Montreal to Chicago (490 pieces for that). A rare and very fine piece of air mail history. This is a nice quality lot, with mostly all dated postmarks and a predominance of socked on the nose strikes, all on KGVI to QEII era stamps. Many 102 cards contain more than one stamp for a given town, but they appear to be all different issues. Approximately one third of the stamps are on small piece, the balance off paper. 833 O/og/nh   imageLarge Collection / Accumulation of Tens of Thousands of Stamps,1897-1990s, mostly all used and mounted on hundreds of pages. Many were assembled for postmark interest, and a quick look reveals many c.d.s.'s (including many on the Jubilee issues), corks, rollers, squared circles, flags, etc. Strong in the Queen Victoria to Admiral era, with some multiples such as pairs, strips or blocks, with many interesting and better stamps. Also note 26 pages of precancels (Edward to Admiral with some later). In addition, may hundreds of covers, cards and first day covers, with about half Queen Victoria to Admiral, we note many interesting items, for example many Admiral C.O.D. tags and covers, etc. Finally, two thick stockbooks crammed with thousands of used stamps, well arranged in the 12c to 46c era mostly. 835 CVR   Main Collection of Different Canadian Post Office Postmarks, all from early 1980s to early 1990s, and includes about 4,800 covers in all, sorted alphabetically within each province, all in 11 envelope boxes. This was an Environment Canada correspondence, where the owner tried to collect as many different post office postmarks as possible. The result is many offices showing different postmarks, with a mix of #8 and #10 sizes, etc. Includes owner's checklist of all the different post offices possible at the time, including FPOs, etc. All of the other covers he collected which were not yet interspersed in this main collection were lotted separately. It contains about 8,000 covers from the early 1980s to early 1990s, some sorted alphabetically by town within province, some not. Includes #8 and #10 size covers and most are addressed to Environment Canada and were intended to be added to the main collection with the goal of obtaining a collection of as many different Canadian post Office postmarks as possible.
