impressive and attractive collection of mint and used beginning with 1869 inverted surcharge on the 40cts used (#3a, $925), the 1891s with #8 used, #10-11 mint, 12 used, followed by 1895 complete with #14-22 with parallel mint and used on several denominations, then the 1896 navigation and commerce types to 5fr (signed) again often with parallel mint and used with varieties present, then the 1897 postage dues complete mint, etc., what follows is a spectacular range of turn of the century with errors galore, including dramatic shifting of the overprints on a pair of #48, as well as some very scarce 1902 different types, the 1904s complete mint and high values parallel used, the 1908s complete again parallel mint and used to high values, 1912s complete mint, the 1921s virtually complete, virtual completion through to the 1930s ending in the 1940s with the airmails, postage dues, back of the book neatly integrated into the collection including valuable "colis postaux" types. A delightful old time collection and a joy to view and describe.

An attractive collection, not just for the stamps but also the albums that are in pristine condition, including unusual Imperials with metal clasps on all 4 corners specifically for the following territories within the German orbit: Deutsches Reich 1872-1945 mint, Saar mint and used including interesting overprints plus a further section pre 1945, yet to be integrated, French Zone incl Baden Monuments S/S perf and imperf, Bohemia & Moravia, Poland-General Gouvernemont pages, Allied Zones including 1946 Currency perf and imperf S/S NH, these most unusual albums are accompanied by 7 Lighthouse albums for German States mint and used, then Germany 1872-1932 virtually all used, followed by Third Reich mostly used, then West Berlin “Left” Bells and Philharmonic NH, etc, the 5th album is DDR inc Debria S/S NH, 1950 Chairman Mao NH, the 6th album, West Germany virtually complete NH incl the good commems from 1949 through to the 1950s and the last Lighthouse for the Soviet Occupation Zone with interesting “Michel listed” material, much more here than described, lovely collection with significant stamp and album cost.
Many 1000s of stamps methodically organized by Michel listings in a substantial stock book, starts off with the first Hindenburg watermarks including multiples to 100pf, then the second watermark Michel #512-28 with dozens of complete sets, then a range of airmails to high values, Hindenburg memorial series complete #548-53 with approx. 40 complete series here, Professions incl 40pf (2), Costumes (3), Winter Olympics (6), nice assortment of “Winter Help” sets, an abundance of different series through to 1945 with plenty of key values present, even among the Hitler definitives, not only with the elusive 42pf green used but various different perfs up to high values 5dm used with very high cat, followed by much more through to the final days of the Third Reich, also Feldpost with postally used examples of Michel #4 green (4) plus 100s of other 1942-44 Feldpostmarken transport planes, eagles etc., a quality stock well worth careful viewing, considerable catalog value.
