1372 ogc RN-W5 image#RN-W5, $1.00 Brown, New York, New York, impressive unused $10,000.00 life insurance policy of the "North American Life Insurance Company" measuring 347x509mm, showing a combination of engraving and typography with some attractive allegorical illustrations, printed by the Continental Bank Note Co., stamp is in a rich clear brown color, this policy not being issued the stamp has been overprinted in tiny type "Stamp returned to the Commissioner of Internal/Revenue for redemption, October 1, 1872", normal folds with small tear along fold at right edge tape mended, plus other edge flaws typical of a document of this size, very fine; an especially rare revenue stamp in this color being listed by Scott in used condition only.
