Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
709 nh S.G. #B3eb imageS.G. #B3eb, 1915 "C.E.F./1d." surcharge on 10pf Carmine, "C.E.F." omitted, a marvelously fresh bottom sheet-margin strip of three, showing a portion of the inscription and plate number, each stamp is beautifully centered, pristine original gum that is never hinged, extremely fine; this striking error occurred from a shift that placed the surcharge high on the sheet, resulting in the "C.E.F" being placed on the stamp above and leaving the ten stamps in the bottom row with "C.E.F." missing (trace shows on perf. tips at top as is the case with all examples of this variety), this marvelous strip represents three of the ten examples printed and is believed to be the only multiple in existence, a major rarity of British Occupation of Cameroun; 1992 Brandon certificate (Scott #55e; $7,800.00+). (Image) £8,250+

SOLD for $5,750.00
