1035   Vending and Affixing Machine Perforations fakes and forgeries invaluable reference collection formed by Dr. Agris in his over 25 years of collecting and researching private vending machine coils, he encountered what all serious collectors of these scarce items are faced with - the presence of numerous fakes and forgeries in the marketplace, Dr. Agris was extremely careful in his attempt to acquire only genuine items for his collection, however he occasionally purchased items at retail and in auctions which turned out to be fakes after submitting them to the various expertizing committees, he decided that it would not only be in his best interest, but in the best interest of philately as well, to attempt to remove these fakes from circulation and incorporate them into what has become one of the most extensive fakes and forgeries collection of its kind; Dr. Agris made arrangements with nearly every dealer he purchased from that he would pay a set amount for each fake which came back with a certificate which was "not genuine", he accumulated each of these forgeries and studied them, as they represent an invaluable research tool in learning to discern genuine items from fake items; we are pleased to offer this important research collection which will prove to be just as valuable to the new buyer as it was to Dr. Agris and the seller of the collection offered here, consisting of 139 items, the vast majority of which are pairs or line pairs (although there are a few multiples and covers), and most of these have been mounted on 34 exhibition pages, each of the mounted items has been identified as to what characteristics make the item not genuine and pointing out these features, the accompanying certificates are placed behind each exhibition page, some of the items have yet to be mounted, virtually every different vending company is represented, with a strong group of Farwells due to their history of being extensively faked; a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the serious student of this fascinating area; ex-Agris.
