Austrian Field Post in Romania (Levant): Crimean War, Austrian occupation in Wallachia and Moldavia. 9kr. blue & 6kr. brown, both fine examples with large margins all around on ~1854 registered military cover sent on 23/5 from Bucharest
to Baden-Baden, Germany. The stamps were cancelled with "K.K. FELDPOSTAMT No. 1" Field Post Office cds (Tchilinghirian Fig. 712), and the letter went via Jassy (26/5) as it bears "FELDPOST No.2", and Baden (2 Jun.). According to Eichele's 2010
Certificate, only two other registered covers are recorded to this destination. Very fine, rare exhibition item. (Image 1)
