1862-63 Baden 3 Kreuzer red postal stationery envelope, small format with additional franking of Switzerland Sitting Helvetia 10 Rp. blue, both the stamp and the Baden stationery with Swiss cds "RIEHEN 15 NOV 64" (Canton of Basel-Stadt),
sent to Lienheim, Amt Waldshut in Baden, without any additional postal fee charged. According to the postal rates of 1855, this cover to Waldshut/Baden would have cost 20 Rappen (= 6 kr.). In this case, the mixed franking was fully accepted (10 Rp.
= 3 Kr. Swiss share and 3 Kreuzer German share). A unique Baden-Switzerland mixed franking. Signed Seeger BPP and certificate Brettl BPP "Very rare two-country franking". (Image 1)

1849 1Kr black proof with red silk thread, unused with original gum, close to large margins and deep colour, some minor gum toning, very rare with only one sheet printed and much rarer than the other existing proofs especially in this
quality. The Bavarian number one was later printed in the same colour but without a silk thread, although they were added to the next Bavarian stamps. An interesting showpiece; certificate Stegmüller (2019). (Image 1)

1849 1Kr black mint n.h. pair right marginal with large margins all around and huge sheet margin on the right side, from the middle of the sheet and hence creased as the printed sheets were always folded in the middle due to their size
so these stamps usually have a small bend. Superb appearance and quality with this issue and particularly scarce with full original gum. (Image 1)

1849, 1Kr black pl.2 in strip of three on cover uniquely cancelled contrary to the regulations with only one strike of the "300" cog-wheel cancel placed in the middle of the two left stamps, leaving the third one free (every stamp should
have received a single cancellation in the middle of the stamp), sent from the small village of Rüdenhausen, arriving the next day in Würzburg, where the stamps again were not cancelled. The strip itself has clear margins all around, with large part
of the dividing lines and with sheet margin on the left. If not unique then certainly a fantastic showpiece of the first German stamp; cert. Stegmüller (2024) (Mi. catalogue value for normal cover €26'000). (Image 1)

1862 (31 May) outer letter sheet to Constantinopoli franked with 1862 3Kr and three 6Kr cancelled 356 Muhlradstempel with Nurnberg date stamp in association, endorsed Via Wien at top, reverse with Wien transit 1/6 and arrival cds 6/6. An
underfranked cover as mail via Vienna was charged at 23Kr (9 + 14), here the red manuscript "12" charge is an error. The right hand 6Kr with touched margin, others good to large, some hinge reinforcement to top fold. A very unusual underfranked cover

1862, 1 Kr rose from the rare plate 2 (showing sharp corners), two singles together with 12 Kr red and 18 Kr yellow, tied by ”28” numeral and AUGSBURG 12 SEP 1862 cds alongside on entire letter to Amsterdam, Netherlands. The stamps shows
some smaller faults. The 32 Kreuzer franking paid the double rate to the Netherlands. It is unique and represents one of the most important usages of the rare 1 Kreuzer rose, plate 2; certificate Stegmüller BPP (2021): ”In Verbindung mit der 1
Kreuzer (Platte 2) handelt es sich um eine äusserst seltene Dreifarbenfrankatur. Mit der vorliegenden Kombination ist mir kein weiteres Ganzstück bekannt”. (Image

1870 Coat of Arms issue perforated 3 kreuzer rose, fresh colours and well perforated with neatly placed violet-blue single-circle postmark "MÜNCHEN 23 JUL" (1873) on complete telegram with text from Lübeck to Munich and forwarded to
Neuötting with transit and arrival postmarks on the back. Slightly stained, especially in the perforation area and that inconspicuous bend mark. Telegrams franked with the coat of arms issue are many times rarer than those with the square issue, only
five are recorded. As a franked telegram with complete contents it is unique. Certificate Brettl BPP (2007): ”als frankiertes Telegram mit vollständigen Inhalt ist dies das mir bisher einzig bekannte Exemplar”. (Image 1)

1861 1/2s black on blue complete mint sheet of 200, as to be expected from a multiple of this size, there are small stains on the gum and some fold residues, as well as folded in the middle and minimally separated at the bottom, the
Jakubek cert. points out the freshness and rarity, being one of only three known complete sheets from 1867. A great rarity of Bergedorf and German States, as complete sheets of first issue stamps are hardly available.
Expertise: Cert. Jakubek (2001).
