1899 2c overprinted USA postal stationery envelope with misplaced CUBA, additionally franked with 5c variety CUPA with customary straight edge tied by single duplex. Part of the items stolen by Rathbone, Neely and Millikan in the US
Administration's worst scandal. They stole the bottom left hand corner of the 5c sheets with CUPA error and affixed to stationery envelopes with faults to make rare philatelic items. Most unusual. (Image 1)

1898 flimsy sent from the U.S.S. "St Louis" to Key West naval base by CARRIER PIGEON, the message of thanks from Capt C.F. Goodrich to Rear Admiral C Carpenter (the commandant of the U.S. navy yard at Portsmouth, N.H.). As the message was
not of importance, it would have been forwarded by mail from Key West and handstamped 'Property of Navy Yard, Portsmouth, N.H.' A very rare example of pigeon post used during the Spanish American War. (Image 1)
