"AMALFI 17 AGO 61" datestamp (Sassone SA = 12 punti) to entire letter directed to Salerno, reverse with Bourbon-style arrival cds of the next day. This 'cerchio piccolo' - type datestamp came in use after the adherence of Naples to the Regno di

1859: 1 gr. rose-carmine, plate II in a superb horizontal strip of five with overall huge
margins, the multiple tied by framed ANNULATO handstamp and part strike of "PARTENZA DA NAPOLI 14 GEN 1861" despatch cds with inverted year slug in red to entire letter directed to Chiaromonte. Upon arrival arrival in Chiaromonte in the Basilicata,
an arrival cds was struck to the reverse (Jan 26) but the receiver was not found and the entire returned to Napoli. The receiver's address was specified by adding 'di Sicilia', the cover was again despatched from Napoli (Jan 31), it passed Messina
(Feb 2) where an additional oval FRANCA was struck to the obverse. A stunning franking to pay correctly the 5 grana rate of a letter between 11 and 15 trappesi, an entire full of postal history. Signed G. & A. Bolaffi, A. Diena Sassone = € 10'000. (Image 1) (Image 2)
