and possibly unique, as the typical (though scarce) ½¢ single franking as listed in UCS is for a wrapper (very few ½¢ stamps were properly used at the time of issue, as the supply was meager and most were bought up by speculators and collectors).

shortage produced by philatelic speculation, ½¢ stamps were only available when purchased as part of a complete set, so the post office actually sold the 1¢ value to Publishing Companies for ½¢ for use on large city household delivery periodicals and
