1623 imageGB.QUEEN VICTORIA - 1855 - 1900 VAST STOCK OF USED SURFACE PRINTED STAMPS. The life's work of a long- retired dealer who built a stock of chiefly 'sound' used stamps which he aimed to be largely fault - free. Annotated and carefully arranged in 3 large stock books, typical of the entire stock we note the first surface printed issue of 1855-57 includes 4d wmk Small Garter SG62 (3 examples), on slightly blued SG62a (3), on white paper SG62b (4), wmk Large Garter on thick glazed paper SG66b (18, incl 3 pairs), wmk inverted SG66aWi (2), 6d on thick paper SG70b (18), 1s greens (40+) plus much else. Later we see such things as 1873-80 wmk Spray 1s orange-brown SG151 (5), wmk Large garter 4d vermilions SG152 (8), 4d sage-green plate 15 (19), plate 16 (57), 4d grey-browns (2), 8d oranges (25) and high values such as 1867-83 5s roses plate 1 (8), plate 2 (8), 1883-84 2s6d on blued (2), on white (120+), 5s roses / crimsons (40+), 10s ultramarines (2), 1891 £1 green, amongst so much more. This description cannot encompass the breath & depth of this incredible lot but we are comfortable that the total catalogue value is between £750,000 and £1 million (many 1000's)
