VERY FINE APPEARING AND RARE LARGE MULTIPLE OF THE 2-CENT GREEN LITHOGRAPH.
This is most likely the second largest recorded multiple, after the two known blocks of 24 (one offered in Kilbourne Part One, Sale 1186, lot 661).
Scott Retail $28,200.00 as blocks of four and pairs (Image)

VERY FINE. A RARE VERTICAL PAIR OF THE 2-CENT GREEN LITHOGRAPH WITH ONE STAMP SHOWING THE "TOP KNOT" VARIETY ON AN UNDERPAID COVER.
The pair is especially desirable, since the two sheet margins better demonstrate the positions on the plate.
Warren Census No. GEO-041. Illustrated in Collectors Club Philatelist (1952, p. 21) and in Brian Green's Philatelic Foundation booklet on p. 8. Ex Dr. Brandon. Signed Ashbrook with his note on the back indicating this was probably an 1862 use and is probably unique. With 1973 P.F. certificate (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. A SCARCE STRIP OF FIVE OF THE 2-CENT GREEN LITHOGRAPH, PAYING THE 10-CENT RATE.
Dr. Daniel C. Warren's census of 2c Lithograph covers (2011 Congress book) lists only this and the cover offered in the following lot used from Eutaw. Warren Census No. ALA-001. Ex Emerson, Finney and Duckworth. Scott Retail $13,500.00 (Image)
VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A SCARCE AND BEAUTIFUL STRIP OF FIVE OF THE 2-CENT GREEN LITHOGRAPH, PAYING THE 10-CENT RATE.
Illustrated in Dr. Daniel C. Warren's census of 2c Lithograph covers, which lists only this and the cover offered in the previous lot used from Eutaw (2011 Congress book, p. 32, Census No. ALA-002). Ex Emerson, Brooks, Finney and Dr. Warren. With 1992 P.F. certificate. Scott Retail $13,500.00 (Image)
FINE APPEARING AND RARE COMBINATION USE OF A STRIP OF THE 2-CENT LITHOGRAPH AND THE 5-CENT TYPOGRAPH, REPRESENTING A ONE-CENT OVERPAYMENT OF THE 10-CENT RATE.
The inside would seem to have been sent to its recipient at Orange C.H., but the lack of postal markings suggests carriage outside the mails.
Ex Fekete. Warren Census No. VA-016. With 2007 C.S.A. certificate as a genuine use but declining opinion on the origin of the interior pair of No. 6. (Image)
