EXTREMELY FINE. THIS MAY BE THE ONLY REPORTED EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT 1851 ISSUE WITH PRIVATE ROULETTE USED FROM PETERSBURG VIRGINIA.
The Sesquicentennial book contains an article by Wilson Hulme discussing unofficial roulettes, including those made at Newbern N.C., Waterbury Conn., Richmond Va., Philadelphia, New York City and Bergen N.Y. The book does not discuss Petersburg, and this is the first example we have offered since keeping computerized records.
