1193 c ImageHouse's Printing Telegraph (New York & Washington Printing Telegraph Company). Illustrated printed design featuring a telegraph machine and tape, Philadelphia office, addressed locally with original ca. 1855 telegram tape from a Rev. Curtis to Mrs. Curtis, states in part, "I come Wednesday. Berths Arranged. TF Curtis.", unfortunately Rev. Curtis never made it to his wife in Philadelphia, after boarding the steamer North Carolina a fire broke out en route to Norfolk, below Smith's Island, all of the passengers and crew were rescued except for Rev. Curtis and "a colored waiter named Walters", both of whom perished attempting to reach the shore, Very Fine, a poignant telegraph cover and message, accompanied by an article from the Baltimore Clipper newspaper describing the accident, ASCC No. 28 (Image)
