Droege Sale - TDC4
Tour de Cure Auction to Benefit the American Diabetes Assoc. -
April 18, 2016
This sale is our biggest yet and contains lots donated by
StampAuctionNetwork Auction firms and bidders. You will find lots from
Robert A. Siegel, Modern Stamps, Apfelbaum, Paradise Valley, Sam Houston,
Vance Auctions, Dutch Country Auctions/The Stamp Center, Cherrystone
Auctions, Michael Aldrich, Fusco and and last year's autographed copy of
Bill Gross's book, The "William H. Gross Collection - United States
Classics, 1847–1869" -- with a "catch", plus a number of lots donated by
our StampAuctionNetwork members.
The sale starts with some US classics, a few nice covers, some nice back of
the book, including a sheet of J75, and US and State Ducks. This year we
happen to have a number of useful postage lots, including mint singles,
sets, sheets, and better sheets in higher denominations. If you itemize
your taxes, this is just like finding money on the street. Donate to the
ADA and use the stamps for your stamp businesses.
In worldwide we have a number of high catalog singles, sets, and a large
number of collection lots starting at incredible starting levels. As is
our custom, we also included 3 lots of Exportas on cover made up especially
for this auction for those that want an introduction to the Mexico Exporta
issue. Some of the collection lots are quite heavy and not recommended to
be shipped outside the continental United States. The heavy lots are noted
as such.
But the best part of this sale, is that it is for The American Diabetes
Tour de Cure. Since most of our consignors donated this material with NO
Tax basis, when you buy most of these lots, you will get a charitable
contribution. I am not making this up. Some lots will show a Fair Market
value, and for those lots your charitable contribution will be only the
amount you pay over the "fair market value". But those are the exceptions.
Last year we raised over $18,000, this year we are starting with twice the
value of material. Where else can you buy stamps and get a charitable
contribution?
If you win lots, payment will be made directly to the ADA using my American
Diabetes Tour de Cure Donation page. The sale will close on April 18th at
12:00 noon EST.
As of April 18th, these lots have no bids. We have reduced the starting bid further to sell them.
