Pierre Wertheimer has been an active philatelic collector and dealer for more than four decades and is widely recognized as one of the foremost specialists in modern proofs. His publication, An Introduction to Modern Proofs of the French Area, issued in 1984, remains an important reference for collectors and students of French-area philately. From 1990 through 2000, Pierre conducted auctions on our platform through his company, France International, prior to its sale in 2001. He has remained actively engaged in philately as a collector, dealer, and researcher. In addition to serving as co-administrator of the Facebook group Philatélie - Les spécialistes des épreuves, he has authored numerous articles on proofs that have appeared in leading philatelic publications, as well as in French Colonies and thematic collecting forums.

This second offering presents a carefully selected group of important proof material, rare thematic exhibit items, and other specialized philatelic holdings. Many of the lots are seldom encountered in the marketplace, and several are unique. These offerings provide collectors and exhibitors with an exceptional opportunity to acquire material that is rarely available.
