(The Serbo-Bulgarian War lasted from November 14, 1885 to March 3, 1886. The war demonstrated the instability of the Balkan peace settlement imposed by the Congress of Berlin. Serbia started the war but was decisively defeated, with a major Bulgarian victory at Slivnitza and subsequent advance into Serbia. Despite Bulgaria being a vassal state of the Ottoman Empire, the Turks did not intervene and it was Austria that demanded Bulgaria stop its invasion, and a truce resulted) (Image) (image 4182a) (image 4182b)
