  • Russian Postal History.
    The first part of the Post History of Russia presents a collection of the rarest items with MUTE cancellations from Russia during the First World War. New opened places of use of mute stamps, previously unknown stamps of identified places, as well as cancellations, known in single copies.

    The second part presents all periods of the Postal History of Russia in the 19th and 20th centuries - departures by city mail, rare types of international and domestic exchange, mail cars, and rare postcards. Formed over almost forty years ranges from 1655, with the earliest recorded example of Jamaica postal history in private hands, to 1970. The collection features a remarkable range of pre-stamp postal history, outstanding Great Britain used in Jamaica and issued stamps with delightful essays, proofs and printing errors, including the unique 1920 1/- corner pair with frame inverted.

Savannah La Mar, "A75". 1859 (6 May) quadruple rate envelope to The Receiver-General at Kingston with manuscript "On Her Majestys Service paid" covered by 4d. rose-carmine (2), 6d.lilac (2) and 1/- green, each neatly cancelled by fine "A75" and paying the inland rate for carriage over 100 miles. Millennium Philatelic Auctions Sale 72 - November 13, 2020 Welcome to our 72nd sale, which is an online auction only, comprising 1,323 lots featuring a wide range of Australasian and All-World material.

There are good representations of all the Australian Colonies. New South Wales features a fine lot of Diadem issues, including covers, as well as later issues including imperforate errors, and good ranges of the various 10/- and 20/- printings. There are useful Perkins Bacon issues from South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia. From Victoria there is a good range of higher value Stamp Duty issues, rare postage dues, and an excellent selection of postal stationery, including a number of scarce items.

Australian Commonwealth includes useful ranges of Kangaroo and George V issues, and other pre-decimal issues, with a wide range of presentation die proofs. There is an excellent selection of Decimal errors, with missing colours, imperforates and other varieties. A very extensive selection of postage dues includes a number of rarities and a range of U.P.U. specimens with receiving handstamps, as well as a number of rare and unusual covers. The postal stationery has large groups of envelopes, registration envelopes and lettercards, but is highlighted by the wrappers including many of the stamped-to-order rarities.

The overseas section includes collections of North Borneo and Labuan postage dues, featuring most of the rare overprint errors, and highlighted by an example of the famous Labuan 8c inverted frame. There is useful New Guinea and Papua, and a good selection of New Zealand. St. Vincent has a very fine range of the lovely Perkins Bacon issues, largely in fine mint condition. A collection of the first QEII definitive issues, all unmounted, are offered individually.
