Vance Auctions Ltd. Sale - 362

Worldwide Internet/Mail Sale - May 24, 2023

Welcome to our May 24, 2023 auction. This is our 362nd auction since we started running our sales back in 1972. There is a terrific array of worldwide material with over 6,600 lots to choose from. All lots have low starting prices and bidding is in inexpensive Canadian dollars. Here are some of the highlights:
  • Excellent 19th Century Canada with Pence, Cents, Large and Small Queens plus Jubilees. Lot 4707 is an attractive used example of Canada's most sought after stamp - the 12 Penny Black. The Jubilees include beautiful imperforate Plate Proof blocks up to the $5.
  • Japan contains many beautiful Karl Lew1s hand illustrated covers from the 1930's with Sea Post cancels.
  • Germany has a most interesting group of WWII Propaganda, Occupation and Local issues with singles and sets. These include German forgeries of Gr. Britain KGVI issues with various overprints and two scarce Judenpost Lodz Ghetto stamps.
  • A strong section of Gr. Britain booklets and booklet panes from the KGV-KGVI eras. Many scarcer items are to be found.
  • An interesting group of United States Baseball covers with silk cachets and signed by famous players.
  • Canada 3¢ Small Queen calendar collection offered by year. This was formed by the previous owner over decades and contains dated cancels in day/month order from across Canada.
  • A strong section of Italy with a most interesting group of WWII era military postcards.
  • Hundreds of lots of fine worldwide postal history and covers. These include illustrated advertising covers, interesting postmarks, unusual destinations, rates and so on.
  • The best section of Tristan da Cunha stamps and covers that we have ever offered.
  • A terrific range of larger size lots including intact collections, box lots, estate balances, and dealer stocks. These are always popular, and will provide fun and profit for dealers and collectors alike.
  • We would love to tell you about more that is in this auction, but we will leave the rest as a nice surprise for you to discover.
Don't forget that there is No Buyer's Fee at Vance Auctions. There is no extra charge for credit card use. Bidding information displayed at Stamp Auction Network for our auction lots is now being updated. Bidding on items in the sale will continue until Midnight EDT on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Please note that bids come in from many sources in addition to SAN (including e-mail, telephone, fax, mail, and our own web site). Even if your bid is 'green' at SAN when bidding ends, you could still be outbid. If your bid turns 'red' after Midnight on the last night of bidding, it means that a higher bid was received from another source before Midnight. Auction results for Sale #362 will be posted at www.vanceauctions.com on the evening of Saturday, May 27th.

Good luck with your bids!
