Griffiths, R.A.M.C. (Royal Army Medical Core) at the General Hospital at Malta, also includes a censored cover with a July 15 1942 cancel sent from Malta during the Malta Blitz Casualty Evacuation (June 1940-December 1943) and 22 mint labels, Extremely Fine, fully imaged online and accompanied by copies of an undated complete article by Gordon Ward published in "The Philatelist", and an article from the Jan. 2002 "The Cinderella Philatelist" on the Malta Philatelic Society website. Ward explained that these were given to British Army personnel in Malta to send home for their loved ones to use on mail sent to them as a way to expedite mail delivery to Malta, but few people read the instructions and used the labels. in the accompanying first page of an article on the subject by Gordon Ward published in the Nov. 24, 1951 issue of "Stamps" that notes "I have records of only 200 used on covers." and notes that the labels were used between August 1940 and October 1943, "although it was not really needed as long as that".


A google search for the recipient found that he was a Regimental Medical Officer attached to the 8th/Kings Own Royal Lancaster Infantry Battalion (https://www.maltaramc.com/articles/contents/blitz.html).
