4408   imageFinland and Faroe Islands, A Well-Maintained Stock of Mint and Used Plus Booklets, 1860-2006, A worthwhile inventory of Finland mint and used and a section of complete Booklets plus all mint Faroe Islands singles, sets and Booklets, all are mounted on "102" sales cards or housed in glassines and is contained in 3 boxes. Scott catalogue numbers are noted on the sales cards and if mint also whether Never Hinged or Hinged. Finland has some earlier issues used and the 20th century is focused on mint with some selected used. Just the scanned highlights total almost $4000 and are only a fraction of the total value. Finland has many complete booklets beginning with Scott 461A up to 1123 and Faroe also has a section of Booklets. Condition is primarily Fine to Very Fine with a few faults and also much of the mint is Never Hinged. Quite a good inventory for online sales with much of the work having been done. 4410   imageFrance, An Outstanding High-Quality Stock Replete with Scarce and Rare Issues, 1850-1935, Certainly, one of the finest intact stocks that we have had the pleasure of offering you. Many, many hundreds of sets and singles with the emphasis on quality issues up to and over $1000. each in Scott. The main value is in mint but there is nice used as well primarily in the classic issues. All is housed on "102" sales cards and many have the Scott value and if mint, o.g., N.H. or no gum and if a fault is present, it is usually so noted. This makes it easy to sell online with a minimal amount of effort. The dealer loved France which can easily be ascertained when you peruse the scans to see just how many scarce mint issues he has acquired in Never Hinged or acceptable o.g. copies. Just the highlights pictured have a Scott value in excess of $51,000. and there is a massive amount left in the long Red box that is unscanned. The most popular issues such as the Sage and Merson are present in mint quantities which are usually modest from 3 to 5 copies but occasionally more, even the early issues if imperforate are often four margins and sound copies. Rather than detailing every item over $100. or more the scans help but viewing this stock in-person is both a pleasure and an education to grasp the potential profit that can be made. In addition to the regular and commemorative issues which go up to 1935 there is a section of semi-postals and Air Post sets and singles followed by Postage Dues which contain a number of better items. The condition is exceptional with most being Fine to Very Fine and a fair amount of strictly Very Fine and N.H. is included. There are some faults, but this is not your usual stock loaded with defective 19th century. Its Scott value is huge when you calculate the balance, it will be a fun project! Infinitely more attractive than an FDC, they feature the stamp with a special cancellation on high-quality vellum with a thematic illustration and various historical information. Only the first three years are noted as partial by the collector, so 1977-93 could very well be complete with over 700 in all. An area that any serious French collector should look at, Fine to Very Fine, one binder flipped online as reference. Shipping charges apply - weight 45 lbs. (Video for this lot) (Image)
