LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description

One sheet of 200 was printed with one pane retained by the ABN Co. and the other sent to Atlanta for the exhibition. There is a legendary story about the rescue of the displayed Atlanta proof panes of 100 from a trash fire by Dr. J.A. Petrie. Around 1900, Petrie tried unsuccessfully to sell the panes, so he broke the panes into one set of blocks of 8, two sets of blocks of 4, two sets of pairs, and the remaining 80 were cut into singles.
