Interestingly, the card was marked for carriage only as far as Lakehurst - and was overpaid by 11¢ - but went all the way to Friedrichshafen - and was underpaid by 49¢ with no penalty.

1235 cover 30/31/32 image1929 (Aug 15, 23, 29), Round-the-World Flight, Friedrichshafen - Tokyo - Los Angeles - Lakehurst (Sieger 30/31/32), Zeppelin picture postcard franked with a a 1m Eagle (#C32) tied by the flight cachet with an Aug 15 onboard datestamp; in Tokyo, 1s (on the address side) & 4s stamps were added and canceled Aug 19 with a Aug 20 onboard datestamp; finally, at Los Angeles, a 5¢ Beacon (#C11) was added and canceled Aug 26; there is no Lakehurst receiver but the address side bears an Aug 28 onboard datestamp; the card bears no name or address, and that, combined with the regular postage rates paid on the last two legs, indicates that the card was probably carried by a crew member, Very Fine, and, no doubt, unique.

The addressee was most likely Carl Laemmle Jr. (someone wrote "Jr." above "Carl"). Carl Sr. created Universal studios by initiating a merger of smaller film studios into a conglomerate for which he served as president.
