580   imageGerman Area, Massive Mint and Used Collection with Covers, 1872-2016, mounted in 20+ albums, plus a group of stockbooks with duplicates. The main meat of the collection seems to be focused around WWII era and after as the cover collection was collected by the original owner who migrated to America shortly after the war, likely in the early 1950's and tends to focus his collection around the issues of his hometown in Berlin. Stamps were collected in both mint and used. Unfortunately, some of the mint stamps have been exposed to moisture, so some stamps are stuck down and need to be carefully removed. Collection starts with a fascinating book of covers, containing the normal group of 1930's to 1940's, mostly philatelic covers, plus some Italian Nazi cachet covers, with an interesting 1948 post war group of 18 covers to Berlin with interesting franking's which cover the entire front of the covers, several 14 Görlitz 4 district handstamps used on registered covers within Berlin, plus a larger group of covers or larger pieces which were also from Görlitz to NYC covered with a variety of franking's. Remaining books contain better singles, with a good selection of Imperial Eagles and the various earlier issues from Germania to Inflation issues, 459-62 NH, B49-57 NH, B59-67, B69-78, multiples of 1930's souvenir sheets including B91-92 (3 sets, two mint and one used), B105, C27-34, C36-37, C43-45 (2 used sets), C44-45, C46-56 (3 sets and several partial sets), OL16-21, 9N1-20, 9NB1-3, used Freedom Bell issues along with other better Berlin commemoratives, DDR in 7 Schaubek with Mao (2 sets), Marx / Lenin perf and imperf souvenir sheets (2 sets, one mint and one used), some Soviet Zone issues and sets of local handstamp issues. Collection finally ends with the modern issues up to reunification and to the modern issues of 2016. Includes Netherlands B144a-45a, along with other Plebiscite and occupation issues., generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 105 lbs. (PDF for this Lot) (Image)

593   imageGerman Area, "Lebensraum" Mint/Used Collection of Colonies & Occupied Areas, 1890-1944, Mounted on pages, an eyebrow-raising collection of German Colonialism and territorial expansion in World War II. Many scarce items and some dubious as well, whether that be the stamps of Mafia Island, the German Occupation of Northern France in WWII handstamped "Besetztes Gebiet Nordfrankreich" or the Australian Occupation of the Marshall Islands, otherwise known as New Britain. The intriguing part though, is that many of these are signed. Overall, the Colonies are well represented with many better individual items, such as Cameroon used #16-18, mint 25, 63, Caroline Islands mint 23, German East Africa used 20, 38 (2, one on piece), 41 (2) including a forerunner cancelled in Lamu on piece (MiNr. VL40 II), German New Guinea used 6, German Southwest Africa used 34, Kiauchau used 18, Mariana Islands mint 31, Samoa used 55 (2, one on piece), mint 73, Togo mint 41, 153. A few very nice examples from the Offices in China with used 36b, 56 and a forerunner cancelled in Peking on piece (MiNr. V45b). Other items include the German plebiscite of Marienwerder with red overprints on the 75pf & 80pf Germania stamps (MiNr. 18P1-19P1), privately issued stamps during WWII, such as the famous Polar Bear sheet from La Legion des Volontaires Français and others from both the French & Belgian Legions, a whole page of locals from the city of Luboml in present-day Ukraine, and another entire page of propaganda forgeries, for example, a complete cancelled set of KGVI Heads, the Jewish War stamp with the face of Stalin, and the equally notorious Heinrich Himmler stamp, this one signed Bohne. A fascinating collection which can be viewed in its entirety online, generally Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 0.8 lbs. (PDF for this Lot) (Image)
