1299 10//11A image1851 3¢ Washington Covers Holding (Scott 10//11A), an outstanding holding of 200 covers franked by the imperforate Washington (approximately 170 #10 or 10A, 30 by #11 or 11A, per the consignor's notations), each individually sleeved, identified, and even priced—ready for easy resale; we note a spectrum of shades, some identified, along with positional items, a few with plate flaws or varieties (several annotated as to recuttings, gashes, even a #10A triple transfer) with numerous stamps plated, and a grand range of cancel types (postmarks, New York 3- and 4-bars, grids, "PAID"s, manuscripts), colors (black, red, blue, green) and locales; most single uses but a couple two-stamp or pair frankings, including one on a turned cover; surprisingly clean on the whole, with some looking like they were sent yesterday; a great chance for student or dealer alike; marked retail value of $29,000, Fine to Very Fine with better, a must-see; imaged in full online. Harmer in 1946, plus 29 addressed to him as President (not backstamped), #500 with PFC, 304 block of six on legal sized from Mayaguez Puerto Rico to Paris France, 599A (four including a joint line pair with 599) as part franking on registered cover with PFC, 524 partial franking on large registered piece, also some interesting destinations incl.
