1881   imageWorldwide, "On Top of the World" Collection in 31 Volumes, 1850-2000, The famous "Scott Blues" here in 31 volumes all the way to the turn of the millennium. A mix of mint & used throughout; a lot of mint in mounts, especially the later issues. Overall extremely well-filled; starts to thin out a bit during the 1990s (volumes arranged chronologically), yet still much better than what we are used to seeing. There are tens of thousands of stamps here, so where to even begin? It's pretty strong in all areas; Asia, Eastern & Western Europe, British & French Colonies, you name it. Didn't see any great rarities, but a ton of better stamps scattered throughout. Does it cat over $100,000? Easily. $150,000? Probably more. Whatever it is, a round of applause to the collector who managed to amass this holding of the first 160 years of philately. Condition will certainly vary, but generally Fine to Very Fine, viewable online is a quick flip of the first two volumes to hopefully lure you in for a private viewing! Shipping charges apply - weight 350 lbs. (Video for this lot) (Video2 for this lot) (Image)

1882   imageWorldwide, "Out of this World" Collection in 39 Volumes, 1940-2012, When was the last time you saw a set of Scott Internationals with over 100,000 stamps? Yeah, I don't remember either, but here's one packed with stamps from just about everywhere. And this collector sought to obtain stamps not just from every country but also from places not recognized as issuing entities, such as Abkhazia, Buryatia, Dhufar, Lundy, Nagaland and Staffa. If you haven't heard of some of these, don't worry, you're not alone! Even with familiar countries you will encounter material you might not have seen before, like Cinderella sheets, Christmas seals, cut squares, revenues, etc. You'll find covers popping up every now and then, and better stamps throughout, like Austria used #C58, Chile mint 254-55, C193, Croatia mint B11-12, Hungary 1202a, etc. This collection is largely unchecked and has been only quickly scanned to the letter "H". There are abundant stamps from many countries, but the following have an extraordinary amount… Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burundi, Chad, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Guinea, Haiti, Hungary, and so on. Pages run into the 1990s with additional pages added for stamps (the latest I saw was 2012). A fun lot which will keep you busy for years! generally Fine to Very Fine, a quick flip of one volume is viewable to give you an idea of its layout and scope. Shipping charges apply - weight 510 lbs. 1883   imageWorldwide, Substantial Quality Inventory of British Commonwealth + Selected Countries, Mainly Mint, 1920's-1990's. Neatly displayed with retail prices and Scott numbers on several thousand high-end black Vario-style sheets in clear holders filling (5) heavy boxes. The well arranged inventory consists of much never hinged after 1950 and o.g. earlier in complete sets, singles, sheetlets, booklets and souvenir sheets, very little is used. A stock carefully stored away several decades back so we noticed a little dust but the stamps are well protected and uniformly in excellent condition. Most items are priced in the $5.00 to $100. range with some less and a few over that price point. A broad selection of countries including: Bahamas, Bermuda, Channel Islands, Papua New Guinea, St Vincent, India, Great Britain, Ireland, Isle of Man, Malaya, Singapore, Sierra Leone, Seychelles, Pitcairn Island, Nyasaland, Barbados and more Commonwealth. Additional countries include: Austria, Belgium, France, Norway, Russia, San Marino, Chile, China, Yugoslavia, Iceland, Persia, Switzerland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Monaco, Kuwait and many more. A perfect holding to easily breakdown for online sales with the work already done. A super clean inventory with very few faults as this was assembled by a condition conscious dealer. Based on a large sample the retail prices should be about $90,000. There is also a plethora of topical issues within this comprehensive and quite saleable inventory that is without the usual high priced 19th questionable items. Please view the scans or in person to fully appreciate. Shipping charges apply - weight 196 lbs. (PDF for this Lot) (Image)

1885   imageWorldwide, Mint & Used Collection in 19th Century Schaubek Album, 1840-99, A gorgeous, gold-embellished 2-volume set of Schaubeks Briefmarken-Album; there is something about these old-time albums which just captures the imagination. Beautifully illustrated and housing an impressive array of better stamps; the second volume brings us up-to-date to the 1890's, which at that time would have been the "modern" era. Much less populated than the first, we have including numerous scans from volume one which are viewable online. We'll let the pictures do the talking for this one! 1887   imageWorldwide, Mint & Used Collections in Single Country Albums, 1840-2018, Another huge worldwide lot, this one comprised of single country albums, mostly from Scott, Minkus & Mystic. Many are a fairly equal mix of mint & used, such as Belgium & Colonies (1851-1965), China with PRC (1897-1971), Egypt (1872-1965), Germany with DDR & some States (1853-1970), Great Britain with Regionals (1840-1997), Japan (1876-1967), Netherlands & Colonies (1869-1966), Spain & Colonies (1850-1964), Turkey (1865-1963) and British Oceania with Australia, New Zealand & others (1874-1966). A few collections are all mint, like Cambodia (1983-99), DPRK (1961-2006) in two volumes, Mongolia (1958-93), and the United Nations (1951-94), which except for #38, looks like a complete mint run to 1987 for all three offices. Of the predominantly used collections, we have Argentina (1860-1974), Austria (1850-1965), Brazil (1850-1975), Canada (1859-1992) with some nice additions, like local posts & revenues, India with Feudatory States (1865-1990), and Cuba (1961-2018), which is a massive 3-volume CTO collection. Most collections solid, some extremely well-filled, with better sets & singles throughout. The only downside is that almost half these albums have some visible water damage at the bottom and a distinctive odor, but it appears to have hardly affected any of the stamps. For this lot, we kindly ask that you view it in person. Considering its massive catalogue value, this could easily be the biggest bargain of the auction! generally Fine to Very Fine. Another Austrian collection, this one mint and black mounted in a Scott Specialty covering 1971-87 and an extremely comprehensive and almost entirely mint collection of Czechoslovakia (1918-63) including Bohemia & Moravia, Slovakia & Eastern Silesia. Very few empty spots in this one! A very well-filled mix of mint & used collection of Hungary (1874-1950) with some in mounts. Better here include mint 528, B97, B108-09 and excellent coverage of the occupation issues. Another highlight is a seldom-seen collection of classic mint postal stationery from the French Colonies, almost all the Navigation & Commerce common design type from around 1900 with many scarcer items. The only country featured in this lot with no European connection is Liberia (1880-1970); another well-filled, mostly mint collection in an old-time album.
