281 cover 1937.04.17 imageYear Long Round the World Flight from New York, 1937, franked with #C21 and C22 tied by New York Apr. 17, 1937 duplex cancel, to San Francisco (Apr. 21, 1937 backstamp) to Hong Kong (Victoria Hong Kong 28 APR 37" double circle backstamp), the blue First Flight cachet at center indicates this was carried on the China Clipper, then from Hong Kong to Bombay India (5 May 1937 receiving backstamps, India Air Mail stamps affixed and canceled 6 May 1937 to Berlin Germany, where two stamps were affixed and tied by individual "Berlin 15.6.37" double-circle datestamps and flown on the Graf Zeppelin (magenta handstamp cachet at top) to Brazil (15 Jun. 1937 backstamp). The cover must have been in Brazil for almost a year, because the three Brazilian stamps are canceled 25.4.1938 and there are purple Miami Apr. 30, 1938 and black New York 5.1.1938 & magenta 5.2.1938 Registry backstamps, Very Fine cover.
