65 og 1893 columbian image1893 Columbian Exposition Tickets, the set of six tickets engraved by the American Bank Note Co., all but the Handel with the series letter "A", also includes the original Caxton Co. envelope in which the Fair's unsold tickets were distributed, bright and fresh, Very Fine.


The Handel ticketl was never printed with the "A", while the Franklin was never printed without it; the others come both ways. There were 100,000 of the Handel produced and 245,000 of the Franklin. The other four were printed in quantitis of 500,000 with the "A", and 1,000,000 with out it.

Col. Millard F. Waltz was an 1878 West Point graduate. Commissioned in the Infantry, he was immediately sent West to fight the Indians. Later, as a Captain, he commanded a company in the 12th U.S. Infantry in Cuba. The following year he was in the Philippine Islands. He served again in Cuba and in the Mexican Expedition. He retired in 1918 with over 40 years of service and died in 1936.
