Lincoln" as Collector and also signed by the ship master Edward Hallet" and Naval Officer James Lovell, on 13.25" x 8" part printed document on both sides, dated June 25, 1806, the document certifies that the "Schooner Julian" imported all of its goods legally and is granted permission "to proceed (from Boston) to the Port of New York," the ship's manifest is on verso, with a burthen of "eight eight" tons, containing 1,000 barrels of salt, and 11 other items in varying quantities, file folds, waterstaining, edge wear and a tape reinforced tear, with cut down Signature House certificate of authenticity, Benjamin Lincoln (1733-1810) was a major general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, seeing action in the battles of Saratoga, the 1780 Siege of Charleston, and the British surrender at Yorktown.
