1244 73 image2¢ Jackson Interesting Postal History Collection (Scott 73), consisting of five legal sized covers -- Indiana State Auditor with stamp tied by blue star in circle fancy cancel, the Executive Dept of North Carolina to the NJ Governor, State of Maryland Court of Appeals, "Adjutant and Inspector General's Office" of Vermont, and "Headquarters 20th Regiment U.S. Colored Troops, 330 Fourth Street, NY" cc, and New York City local use with stamp tied by bright red cancel, also includes "collateral" -- #210 on cover to "Andrew Jackson (III) c/o Governor Bate Nashville Tennessee" and personally forwarded by the Governor who wrote "not seeing you in the city today, I forwarded this Wm. B. Bate", a free franked letter with ALS in his hand from PMG Amos Kendall while 4th Auditor of the Treasury Dept., 1832 address sheet to "The Honourable Edward Livingston, Secretary of State, Washington" no contents but docketing "Glasgow 14th February 1832/Received 28th March 1832/Thomson Alexander/Cholera Morbus", an cover to Jackson's widow Sarah at Hermitage and a calling card "Mr. & Mrs. Jackson, Hermitage" a beautiful multicolor unused Civil War patriotic cover and a stamp with a fake red Chicago Supplementary Type B cancel (1976 PFC), and three Civil War patriotic covers with stamps affixed and tied by fake cancels (1 with PF cert), mostly Very Fine, see the entire lot online.
